About the site

New Layer Capital (NLC) is a venture firm investing exclusively across the Bitcoin technology stack, from energy and mining through Lightning to consumer applications, with a portfolio that includes Ocean, Xverse, and Hestiia. Designed by Ukrainian studio Obys, the site trades fintech gloss for a dark, minimal, almost architectural layout: numbered sections walk through the firm's three investment layers, and a bento grid presents portfolio companies as discrete tiles. A clean example of restraint and structure substituting for imagery in a finance site.

How this page sells

For founders, investors and talent: a Bitcoin-only fund that reads like an annual report, with a door for each audience.

Primary navigation

  1. 'New Layer Capital' over a magenta mountain illustration, with the thesis line 'Investment firm propelling groundbreaking tech companies building on Bitcoin' and nested N, L, C colour frames that become the page's navigation.

Why it converts: The stacked-layer frame visualises 'every layer of the Bitcoin stack', making the firm's thesis the brand itself, memorable to founders comparing funds.

  2. 'We believe in Bitcoin's transformative potential as one of the greatest inventions of our time…' with key phrases highlighted in lilac, magenta and orange.

Why it converts: A strong conviction statement attracts founders who share it. Bitcoin-only founders want investors who won't push them toward other chains.

  3. A ledger of big numbers: $1B ('Partners have a track record of building billion-dollar companies'), 15+ companies funded, 75+ years of combined expertise, Bitcoin adopters since 2013.

Why it converts: 'Since 2013' is the credential that matters in crypto: it proves conviction through past cycles, not just the latest bull market.

  4. A portfolio table (Anadro Energy, Block Green, Cormint, DLC.Link, d-Matrix, Hestiia, Moon, Ocean), each with a one-line description and investment year.

Why it converts: A plain, scannable table lets a founder find adjacent companies fast, and one-line descriptions show the breadth of the thesis.

  5. 'What We Invest In' over an orange feather, with a layer map: Layer 00 energy, mining and advanced computing, Layer 02 Lightning Network, Layer 03 applications.

Why it converts: Mapping the thesis to stack layers lets a founder check fit in seconds, which saves both sides a pointless pitch.

  6. A duotone portrait of Hestiia's CEO: 'it was immediately evident that they understood Hestiia's multifaceted blend of Bitcoin, energy, heating, IoT, and big data, a concept many other investors struggled to grasp.'

Why it converts: 'Other investors struggled to grasp' is the most persuasive thing a founder can hear: this fund will understand an unusual business.

  7. 'Invest with us in top-tier tech companies building on Bitcoin' with Apply to Invest, describing managed funds for institutions and a syndicate for accredited angels.

Why it converts: A separate path for LPs, with a direct Apply button, turns the site into a fundraising tool as well as a deal-flow magnet.

  8. 'Connect With NLC' over magenta grass, 'hello@newlayer.capital', then a footer with three doors: Founders (Submit), Limited Partners (Invest With Us) and Talent (a careers email).

Why it converts: Three labelled doors send each visitor to the right inbox, which is exactly what a small fund needs to keep deal flow organised.
